Weave

As a specialist weaver, we are constantly developing new textiles to meet an ever-growing demand for greater functionality, high-performance and added value. We work at the leading edge of weaving knowledge to create high-quality, cost-effective solutions for our customers’ critical fabric requirements.

Weaving Processes

Yarn Twisting

Our in-house ring-twisting machinery gives us the flexibility to offer optimal twist levels to our customers’ exact specifications. Electronic drive control ensures precise twist levels and consistent performance.

We hold an extensive library of settings so we can quickly recall preset yarn styles for swift, efficient repeatability.

We can create bespoke, hybrid yarns using multifilament and spun yarns of varying counts – ideal for the introduction of anti-static, conductive or reinforcement yarns.

Warping

Precision sectional warping machinery gives us full control over the preparation of weaving beams. We can meticulously prepare complex warps with highly accurate section alignment, yarn control and tension levels.

We handle both multifilament and spun yarns, including high-performance technical yarns such as para-aramids and UHMWPE.

Our in-house warping machinery means we are more responsive – producing long warps for full-scale production runs and shorter warps for bespoke runs and development work.

Weaving

Our extensive fleet of Rapier Looms can weave fabric up to 340 cm wide with weights from 25gsm up to 3,000gsm. Our fleet of shuttle looms can weave tubular fabrics at widths up to 220 cm.

We produce flat, multi-layer and tubular weaves, as well as more complex weave patterns and constructions designed with specific performance characteristics. We have an extensive database of fabrics and their technical attributes so we can quickly tailor textiles to suit your precise needs.

Finishing

We prepare fabrics for further industrial processes by applying a range of finishes precisely engineered to meet performance requirements.
